Loan Origination System product management
I’m Gurpreet Singh, a Senior Product Manager working on lending products at Capri Global Capital. My product scope includes GAIA, a loan origination system, and Athena, a field Personal Discussion application used within Micro-LAP lending journeys.
What an LOS product needs to solve
A loan origination system is more than a sequence of forms. It coordinates customer and case information across sales, credit, risk, operations and disbursement while preserving controls, ownership and an auditable decision path.
My work focuses on translating lending policy and operational requirements into product flows: role-based actions, maker-checker controls, underwriting handoffs, deviations, sendbacks, field evidence, approval stages and disbursement readiness.
Designing the lending journey end to end
For an NBFC lending journey, improving one screen does not necessarily improve turnaround time. I map where a case waits, where information is repeated and where an unclear exception sends work backwards. Product decisions then consider both speed and risk controls.
- Loan origination and case workflow design
- Credit and underwriting journeys
- Field assessment and Personal Discussion workflows
- Policy rules, deviations and approval controls
- KYC/AML and operational checks
- Disbursement and mandate readiness
- Collections and field execution products
LOS and Micro-LAP
Micro-LAP journeys serve secured lending cases where business, income, property and field assessment information can require multiple teams to collaborate. The product challenge is to collect decision-useful information without turning the journey into unnecessary re-entry and waiting time.
My public portfolio reports broader journey outcomes including login-to-disbursement turnaround moving from roughly 10–12 days to 7–8 days and Sales PD processing moving from roughly 8–9 hours to 3–4 hours. These rounded figures describe the broader operating journey and are not attributed to one feature.
